J/24 CANADA

2026 Regatta schedule

The Canadian J/24 Class Association if pleased to announce its 2026 regatta schedule. Building on the success of 2025's Canadian Championship, three additional class-sanctioned events have been added to the association's plan to rebuild the J/24 class in Canada and bring sailors together for competitive racing.

World Qualifiers:

Ontario Championship, Ashbridge's Bay Yacht Club in Toronto, May 22 - 24

Canadian Championship, Nepean Sailing Club in Ottawa, June 25 - 28

La Coupe du Québec, Pointe Claire Yacht Club in Montreal, August 7 - August 9

North American Championship, Port Credit Yacht Club in Mississauga, September 30 - October 4

These events will serve as qualifiers for the 2027 J/24 World Championship in Rochester, New York, hosted by the Rochester Yacht Club. Qualifying details are below.

2027 World Qualifying Approach

The Rochester Yacht Club will host the J/24 2027 World Championship in Rochester, New York, October 2 to October 9, 2027. This is a fantastic opportunity for Canadian J/24 enthusiasts. The world qualifying berths for Canadian boats include:

3 berths for the Canadian Series (Ontario Championship, Canadian Championship, La Coupe du Québec) for the top 3 boats with the highest accumulated points across the 3 regattas (High Points System)
3 berths for the top 3 Canadian finishers at this year's Canadian Championship
4 berths for the top 4 Canadian finishers at this year's North American Championship
1 berth for the All-Women's Team with the highest accumulated points after participation in one or more J/24 Canada 2026 World Qualifying events (High points system).
1 berth for the Youth Team with the highest accumulated points after participation in one or more J/24 Canada 2026 World Qualifying events (High points system).
1 berth for former J/24 World Champion, Rossi Milev
1 berth to be awarded at the discretion of J/24 Canada Council

Ontario Championship

-World Qualifier-

The Ashbridges Bay Yacht Club in Toronto, Ontario will host the J/24 Ontario Championship as part of their annual ABYC Open. The event will see two days of racing on May 23-24, with registration, weigh-in, boat measurement (as required), and social activities on May 22.

Canadian Championship

-World Qualifier-

The Nepean Sailing Club in Ottawa, Ontario, will host the J/24 Canadian Championship as part of their annual Nepean One Design regatta. The event will see three days of racing on June 26-28, with registration, weigh-in, boat measurement (as required), and social activities on June 25.

La Coupe du québec

-World Qualifier-

The Pointe Claire Yacht Club in Montréal, Québec, will host La Coupe du Québec! The event will see two days of racing on August 8-9, with registration, weigh-in, boat measurement (as required), and social activities on August 7.

North American Championship

-World Qualifier-

The Port Credit Yacht Club in Mississauga, Ontario, will host the 2026 J/24 North American Championship. The event will see 3 days of racing on October 2-4, with registration, weigh-in, and boat measurement beginning September September 30. The event will include a host of social activities and promises to see some very competitive racing.

Bay of quinte cup

The Bay of Quinte Yacht Club, in Belleville, Ontario, is calling out to J/24 owners and crews to register for 2 days of racing as part of the club's 150th anniversary, July 10-11. For more information, reach out to local J/24 rep Nathan Bresett - nathanbresett@yahoo.com
